Automatic Winders for foam

The unique capabilities of the FAP Soft Wind system provides “full development” or correct post degassing process of thin and thick foams.

Packaging plays a crucial role in foam production, ensuring product quality during transport and storage.

Specific reeling system for EPE, EPP & EPS foam materials “Soft Winding” permits to have a full controlled and constant tension between spires of reel. This technology permits to obtain the perfect wound material, facilitating the post-expansion process of the gas for its following laminating or warehousing.

Back in the 1990s, FAP revolutionized this process with the introduction of the Soft Winder system, which offers:

  • Reduced material degassing time by 40%.
  • Shorter production cycles and lower warehousing costs.
  • Uniform roll thickness for consistent expansion rates.
  • A 6% reduction in raw material costs per square meter, combining quality with cost efficiency.

Optional units can be added to the automatic winding process:
  • the automatic system to glue cardboard core
  • the longitudinal cutting of foam (for cutting of edges, for more reels) and pre-cutting units
  • the automatic trolley to load cardboard cores and unload material
